Meet the Sackos Family

Welcome to our family farm! Dan and Georgina Sackos (for those wondering its pronounced Sack-us) bought this 5-acre property almost 30 years ago to continue their dog boarding business here in Washington. They successfully ran the business until the 2020 COVID-19 virus made an appearance and all travel was shut down. They tried to hold on but without boarding customers they were facing a tough decision on letting go of the home where they raised their four kids. Luckily, their son Gus and I were able to take over the family property.

Now, we’re starting a new chapter on the family property with his parents and so far we have chickens and five goats, some of which are pregnant! Join us on our journey of becoming more self-sufficient as we learn how to take care of different animals and grow all kinds of food. Our ultimate goal is not just to be able to feed ourselves but also to make products that we’re eventually able to sell on a small scale. Sign up for our e-mail alerts so you don’t miss out on next week’s post about our new goats!
